Laura had her first taste of acting when the lead in her third grade class play got chicken pox the day before the performance. Laura had memorized the role by watching the rehearsals and stepped forward to save the day.
As her childhood was mostly spent abroad living in such places as Thailand, Germany, Australia, and Venezuela, she developed a taste for adventure at an early age. From sledding down the sides of active volcanoes to swimming with sharks, sleeping in hammocks in the jungle to riding Berber stallions across the deserts of Morocco--Laura has tried it all.
Laura continued her globetrotting in college. While getting her degree in Theater Arts at the University of Pittsburgh, she spent a year immersed in performance training at The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland and Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
After graduation, she put her knowledge of the technical side of theatre to use working as a stagehand at one of the premier theatres in Washington D.C. It was there she learned the single most important rule of being an actor: "Be nice to the crew". After several years of making other people look good onstage, Laura decided it was her time to be in the limelight and set out on a cross-country road trip to Hollywood.
Although she has only been living in Los Angeles for a short time, Laura has already appeared in several television shows, commercials, and short films. She may also be one of the few actors who enjoys doing extra work, not just for the craft services, but so she can study the methods of current successful actors as well as develop a greater understanding of how a large production set runs.
When not acting or in class, Laura loves getting out and exploring L.A. She can be found browsing for used books, hiking scenic trails, searching for the best BBQ or embracing her inner "California Girl” and wiping out at Zuma Beach on her new surfboard.
